Trust your coach.
It would seem that this would be a given. Trust. Coach. They seem to go hand in hand. Well, not always. There is the scenario where a person may feel like they should just cut strings and go it alone. Jump ship if you will. Solo, mono, all by themselves.
To this, we say, do so at your own risk.
Definition of coach
: a person who teaches and trains a trainee
: a person who teaches and trains the trainee
: a person who makes decisions about how the trainee reaches the goal
A coach of any kind is meant to be the leader. A coach is someone that kicks your butt when no one else will and that kick will often push you over the finish line. A coach believes in your power when you don’t. A coach stands for your greatness and sees you as a big person even if you are still feeling small.
A coach is a lifeline. A person you can spill your guts to and know you won’t be placated and coddled. A coach snaps you back to reality and if you won’t walk along side them they will drag you to the end of the race.
A coach isn’t your friend first or your warm and fuzzy loved one. A coach is present to what is so and holds you to your word. A coach gilds your possibilities with integrity and honor. A coach is there when your friends have no idea what to say and even if they do, they won’t say it.
A coach is standing on the side lines when you are dragging yourself, with your fingernails, cut and bleeding from the battles they cheered you through.
A coach has your back.
Don’t turn your back on your coach. That hand they are holding out, it may be the only one that teaches you when you are in the pits and life threatens to thwart your every will and commitment.
Trust your coach and above all, be coachable.
