How quickly will I lose weight?
Incredibly quickly. Perhaps the most alarming aspect of our process is the speed of the weight loss. For years, we’ve all heard the “dangers” of rapid weight loss. We have to ask ourselves who is behind this messaging. The fact is that a life can’t possibly be saved too quickly.There are hundreds of diet plans, programs, and products that benefit from stretching out the process and keeping you buying and investing. Our bodies don’t want to be mistreated and filled with toxin-laden fat cells. Your heart doesn’t want to struggle to push your thick blood through constricted veins. We coach you in ways that put your body in charge and when that happens, it drops weight at it’s own pace. Your body wants to be a lean, strong, healthy, efficient machine. We know how to get you in those spaces that allow your body to shed the excess rapidly, and it does. You can expect to lose a minimum of 50 lbs in the first 90 days. It’s amazing how your body responds you when give it more of what it needs and less of what it doesn’t.
The truth is that the weight loss is the easiest part of this process. Digging deep inside yourself to discover why it’s happened in the first place is what’s needed to ensure that it’s gone forever can be a bit more daunting. A portion of the reason is simply that you didn’t have the education you needed to be your best self. But there’s more than that at the core of why you’ve gotten obese and so unhealthy. Being taken on as a 100YB client means doing the homework. You can expect 20-30 minutes of homework every night (or morning if that’s your preference). You’ll be reading, journaling, thinking, observing and bridging from harmful habits to healthy ones. Before you reach out to us, please consider if you’re truly ready for that kind of commitment. This is not a start and stop journey. Non-stop, straight to the finish line with velocity.
How does the program work?
The first month is boring. Painfully so, as a matter of fact. The number one reason we get heavy is because we are addicted to sugar, fat and salt and we entertain our tastebuds with them. Once the first month is behind us, your tastebuds and your mind will be ready to explore things that you would have previously found to be bland and boring. We rebuild your palate and thought process, from the ground up; layer by layer. If you have children, you probably remember giving them one new thing at a time as infants, so they could get to know the food and be present in it. Perhaps first a green beans, then sweet potatoes, then apples. Don’t worry, you certainly won’t be eating baby food, but you get the idea.
What does hiring a coach mean?
The relationship between you and your coach is intimate. You’ll communicate daily and about everything to do with your body. Your coach will tell you everything you need to know to be successful and she’ll hold your hand every single step of the way. You and your coach will be tethered to one another 24/7. Every single waking hour, you and she will be connected and she’ll always be your go-to. She’ll educate you step by step, peel back the layers of harmful beliefs, unravel all the conflicting information that you’ve been fed for so many years, and be the buffer between you and wrong turns. Your coach is there to high-five you, be a stand for you, and talk you off the ledge.
This program is intense and it’s not for everyone. Before you and your coach choose to move forward together, you two will work through a series of questions and collaborations to make sure that you’re a good fit for one another.
How much exercise is involved?
Zero. We ask that you not exercise while you’re in the loss phase of this program. You can’t outrun your fork, and exercising will only increase your appetite. Not to mention, if you’re clinically obese, every step that you take is exercise and has an impact on your joints and organs. Exercise is for muscle building and toning, not for weight loss. We know some wonderful fitness gurus who understand and embrace our approach to health. If you’d like an introduction to them once you’ve reached your goal weight, we’d be happy to make the connection.
Is there a perfect time to start the program?
We have found there is never a better time to get serious about our health and our life trajectory than “yesterday”. There will always be something that has the potential to get in the way. You have to decide when you have had enough of the pain and discomfort. And you need to know that starting and stopping this program is not an option. If there are events or occasions over the few months it will take to shed your weight when you plan to engage in unhealthy behaviors, you must choose before you come on board what’s most important to you. Nothing can get in the way. It’s all in, or all out with us. Once you’re at your goal weight, we will teach you how to incorporate rare and extravagant meals back into your life at a much lower frequency of consumption than before.
What makes this different than other things I’ve tried?
If you’re like us, you’ve tried seemingly everything. Most diet regimens focus on what you cannot have, what to avoid and what to cut out. Worst of all, they continue the deadly habit of entertainment via food, albeit low calorie entertainment, it just continues to push the problem forward. For us and for most people we know, that isn’t a permanently successful approach. Deprivation and restrictions are not the way to a person’s heart, and they’re not a sustainable way to live your life. We will help you to fall in love with that which serves you, and supports longevity. Healthy, sexy bodies are just a bonus. It’s a long, active life that we’re really after. What does the program cost?
The program costs vary based on the amount of weight that needs to be dropped. It ranges from $8,000 to $17,000.
For those who are morbidly obese and considering weight loss surgery, this solution is around half the cost. We are highly committed to helping those who are considering the barbaric surgical method of altering or “banding” their stomachs. With successful transformations of former bariatric/lap band clients (who initially gained their weight back) under our belt, this is a motivating force in the urgency of our work. Glaringly, the overwhelming costs aren’t limited to financial ones: there are emotional and lifestyle sacrifices, as well. Bariatric surgery can cost anywhere from $14,000 to $28,000 for the three most common of procedures: gastric sleeve surgery, gastric bypass surgery and gastric banding (lap band surgery). Sadly, patients often gain the weight back and slowly stretch out their stomachs again, because until you rewire the brain and choose a completely new view of food and health, there’s not much else but willpower keeping you on track. It’s important to get OUT of that cycle. The constant battle against yourself is exhausting and must be brought to a halt. You need far more than willpower to win the war. What will I eat?
We’re big fans of plant based food. That doesn’t mean that we’re vegans, though. We eat meat on occasion, but the majority of our nutrients comes from fruits, vegetables, beans, rice, nuts and seeds. In our commitment to live a healthy, happy 100 years on this planet of ours, it’s imperative that we consume copious amounts of nutrients. We aren’t focused on cutting out animal products, but they don’t contain a lot of nutrients and there are smarter choices available to us. We are focused on putting the best possible fuel in our bodies, and we’re certain that we can get you to the same place. People who have adopted the Nutritarian lifestyle have reversed diet-related diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, hypertension, chronic fatigue, autoimmune disease and migraines, among a host of other unsavory afflictions. The right food can be the most healing “medicine” you ever put in your body.
