As a child from the Depression era, I was born heavy and have never not been heavy. In my youth, I ate anything and everything, except jello and cottage cheese. I was sometimes taunted as a kid for being overweight. My high school football weight was 205. My mother said her trouble “was never about getting me to eat, but rather getting me enough to eat”. When I was in the military, I found myself bored while on a remote mountaintop radar site and I reached 250 lbs.
I have tried everything in life to lose weight, including medication. I often lost weight initially, but it was never sustainable. My wife cooks nutritarian style now and I like the food. I probably eat more meat than the average nutritarian but I have been able to maintain just fine with veggies as the main course, and it is my hope that this could be our forever lifestyle.
